Debt Recovery
TC Young recognise that as the credit crunch bites, organisations and individuals are facing increasing pressures to recover debts. The firm provides essential tools for both businesses and individuals through a comprehensive range of debt recovery services.
Our client base is varied and has seen the firm act for limited companies, factors, charities, individuals and landlords. Our extensive experience throughout Scotland enables us to tailor our service for each client to best meet their needs.
Debt recovery process: We have the expertise and the knowledge to guide you through the process of debt recovery and we will ensure you are: fully informed, provided with the expert advice to identify the correct solution to suit your needs, given guidance regarding the cost effectiveness and the practicalities of any debt recovery action and always kept up to date to enable you to make the right decisions.
Court actions: We appear in court throughout Scotland on a daily basis and deal with all matters of debt proceedings ranging from small claims to significant debt actions in the Court of Session. However, we won’t incur the expense of court action if we can avoid it and will explore all methods of alternative dispute resolution with you where appropriate.
Where court action is necessary to recover debts we will: consult with you at every stage of the process, have frank discussions with you regarding your prospects of success, recommend the appropriate procedures to follow in each case (starting with sending warning letters to debtors, right through to obtaining a court decree for payment.)
Decrees: We know that a decree from court is just a piece of paper without the tools and the knowledge required to enforce it. Accordingly, we have established relationships with sheriff officers and liaise closely with them in deciding on the appropriate methods in which to recover the debt.
If you would like more advice regarding any aspect of debt recovery, get in touch with one of the team who will be pleased to help.
