Job Title:Associate

Prior to joining TC Young, Fiona spent two years working in the City of Edinburgh Council’s Anti-social Behaviour Team. She was originally employed as a Neighbourhood Response Team Officer and then latterly as a Housing Investigation Team Officer.
Working within the Anti-social Division and liaising with the Legal Services Department, she dealt with anti-social behaviour complaints and was involved in co-ordinating and facilitating multi-agency responses. This involved working with Lothian and Borders Police and other voluntary agencies. This experience meant she managed her own caseload and was involved in gathering evidence and writing reports with a view to raising court actions for recovery of possession and ASBOs. As a result she has considerable experience of working within a public body.
Since joining TC Young Fiona has worked exclusively in the court department, allowing her to maximise her extensive knowledge in this specialist area. Fiona has appeared at Sheriff Courts throughout Scotland and represents housing providers on a weekly basis predominantly in Edinburgh.
She continues to specialise in anti-social behaviour cases, but her work also means she is involved in negotiating and resolving disputes. She has frequent contact with clients and regularly advises on payment actions, factoring, sequestration/trust deeds, repossessions, and actions of Interdict. Fiona also regularly advises private landlords and letting agents on a range of tenancy issues within the private rented sector, including the preparation of notices, obligations of the landlord and recovery of possession.
