Isabel trained exclusively in the Private Client Department of one of Scotland’s top five firms. She joined TC Young as a partner in 1999 and has developed a reputation as an approachable and knowledgeable solicitor.
As head of the Private Client Department, Isabel has overseen substantial change and growth, including the addition of the Family Law Team in 2007. Isabel is also a very experienced property solicitor dealing with complex land acquisition and sale transactions and has developed a strong interest in dealing with rural property matters. She is part of T C Young’s team advising on Land Reform legislation
Isabel is a member of the Society of Trust and Executry Practitioners (STEP) and is involved on a daily basis in all aspects of the preparation and execution of wills and powers of attorney, the setting up, administering of and termination of trusts (including charitable trusts), the administration of complex executries and issues of succession, inheritance tax planning and management of individual and family assets and businesses. She provides advice to private care home providers and to charitable organisations on a range of issues including Care Commission regulation, mental health and adults with incapacity.
She takes responsibility for the client training that fee earners deliver externally and is in charge of ensuring that sufficient training is undertaken to keep up to date with changing legislation
