Lynne, as Head of our Family Law Department, has 20 years experience of family law and appearing in court. She practises family law exclusively, with a particular interest in cases involving children.
She is regularly appointed by various courts to act as curator ad litem (to protect the interests of children affected by litigation) and to act as a Reporter for the Court in disputed cases involving the welfare of children; to investigate and make a recommendation to the sheriff as to the best interests of the child or children concerned.
In addition, Lynne has been appointed by South Lanarkshire Council as a Safeguarder. In all of these roles she has extensive experience of cases involving children in need of compulsory measures of care.
Within the firm she has extensive experience of representing client’s interests in both the Sheriff Court and the Court of Session. We have a significant number of clients who require assistance at Children’s Hearings and in their dealings with the Social Work Department at case conference stage and at Looked After Review meetings. Lynne has considerable experience of liaising with other professionals involved in child related cases such as Social Workers, Health Visitors, Police and Education Officials.
Lynne also delivers seminars on family law issues to Women’s Aid workers, Social Workers and Children’s Workers and regularly attend conferences to ensure we remain up to date with changes in this specialist area.
