T C Young named top Scottish social housing firm
T C Young has recently been named the top ranked firm for social housing in Scotland in the 2009 Chambers publication. According to Chambers (world leaders in client led intelligence on the legal profession), "the group's focus on the social housing sector goes back more than 30 years, distinguishing it from competitors in the field, as the lawyers can call on vast experience and resources to best aid their clients".
T C Young were the only firm in Scotland to be given a band 1 rating. Andrew Cowan, the firm's managing partner, is pleased with the recognition the firm has been given, "This ranking acknowledges our extensive experience working with clients who deliver affordable housing in Scotland. The firm is continuing to expand its range of expertise to meet the developing needs of clients."
T C Young provide clients with a wide range of services from housing management to large-scale projects, including stock transfers. Following detailed interviews in the housing sector, Chambers singled out a number of the partners: Stephen Macgregor, "an extremely experienced lawyer who is great to work with, Andrew Cowan, "one of the strongest individuals in Scotland" in this niche area and Mark Ewing who "enjoys a solid reputation for his work in the projects and structures team".
