What we do
Employment
TC Young provide our Housing and Voluntary Sector clients with employment advice and representation tailored to their specific needs. We work closely with EVH and SFHA on topics of common concerns to RSLs in the employment field. We are regular speakers at seminars and conferences, as well as providing workshop sessions and in-house training for clients and client groups.
As well as representing our RSL and voluntary sector clients at tribunal, our team also provides advice and guidance to senior management, and HR and committee members on internal disciplinary and grievance issues and absence and performance management.
In addition we have substantial experience of advising RSLs in relation to transfers of engagements, mergers and group restructuring exercises, advising in particular on the effect of TUPE on contracts of employment, joint contracts, new proposed staffing structures, marrying people to posts as well as redundancy, termination packages and pension issues.
We have recently been involved in advising a transferee charitable RSL in relation to merger of over 40 individual organisations, including advice on due diligence, harmonisation, equal pay and information and consultation requirements including preparation of guidance notes and presentations to staff and committee members.
We also advise a number of RSLs in relation to Schedule 7, Disclosure and Data protection issues and have made representations on their behalf to the regulation and inspection board of Communities Scotland, the Information Commissioner, Disclosure Scotland and the Care Commission among others.
