Family Lawyer Edinburgh


TC Young are looking to recruit an experienced family law solicitor for our Edinburgh office. The successful candidate will report to the family partners in Edinburgh, and due to the volume of work within the department, there will be a requirement to manage their own caseload. This role is ideally full-time but consideration may be given to exceptional candidates who are interested in working part-time, with a minimum of 25 hours per week being worked.

What we are looking for:

  • a minimum of 2 years (post-qualifying) family experience
  • good working knowledge of SLAB
  • someone with good research skills

The successful candidate must:

  • Be passionate about this area of law.
  • Bring with them civil court and family law experience.
  • Be capable of ‘hitting the ground running’.
  • Be comfortable and able to work under pressure.
  • Be well organised with the ability to plan personal work to meet competing deadlines (with limited supervision).

Reliable with excellent attention to detail, you will be working in a small team with extensive client contact. Strong communication skills are essential, with the ability to quickly understand a client’s requirements and tailor advice accordingly. It is also hoped that the individual will be keen to mentor junior members of staff.
