Catherine McQuarrie

Catherine McQuarrie deals with the firm’s housing and debt recovery caseload. Having started her career as a civil court paralegal, she has developed a well-rounded knowledge of the legal issues which Registered Social Landlord (RSL) and private rented sector clients face regularly through practical experience.

Catherine has been praised forproviding prompt advice and for excellent results.

Catherine has extensive experience in debt recovery, housing law, evictions, repossessions, sequestration and in particular, has worked with many well-known RSLs during her career.

Dealing with varied enquiries from clients on a daily basis, she gives advice on Scottish Secure Tenancies, Short Scottish Secure Tenancies, Shared Occupancy Agreements, notices, gaining access for inspections or repairs, abandonment, decanting, assignation, sub-letting and anti-social behaviour.

In addition, Catherine provides advice on the new Private Residential Tenancy (PRT) regime and drafting Private Residential Tenancies/Notices where required. She also represents clients at the First-tier Tribunal (Housing and Property Chamber).

She has provided both advice and training to RSLs on housing and factoring matters.

Catherine regularly appears in sheriff courts throughout Scotland and is skilled in both negotiating settlements and conducting contested litigation.

She is a key member of our housing litigation team.
