Ross O'Donnell

Ross O’Donnell is a solicitor in TC Young’s Court Department. He joined TC Young as a trainee in August 2019, working in both the litigation and Private Client teams, before qualifying in August 2021.

Ross now works exclusively within the Court Department, where he regularly appears in Sheriff Courts throughout Scotland in contentious litigation disputes, including pursuing and defending civil cases involving actions of payment, damages and interdict.

Involved in court actions at all levels (including Summary Cause, Simple Procedure and Ordinary Cause), Ross successfully guides and advises clients through proceedings, reaching outcomes which are tailored to the specific interests of the client. In addition, he also regularly handles various types of Court of Session actions, where he acts as Principal or Edinburgh Agent in relation to proceedings and liaises with Counsel on matters. Ross has comprehensive experience in negotiating settlements, reaching successful outcomes for clients, whilst always demonstrating an awareness for cost and time.

Conducting a wealth of cases for Registered Social Landlords, Ross advises them on social tenancy matters including evictions, Anti-Social Behaviour Orders (ASBOs), succession/assignations and access. He has frequently raised actions for RSLs and appeared at subsequent court hearings on their behalf. Ross also assists factors with debt recovery, advising them on available legal recourse and viable methods of diligence, including raising successful actions for sequestration.
