Bio

Stephen Higgins is a senior associate specialising in property law and working between our high value residential team and commercial property team with a particular focus on commercial property.

Stephen holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science with Law, and a Law degree, both from the University of Strathclyde together with a Diploma in Legal Practice.

Stephen acts for individuals, SME’s, companies, charities, factors, social landlord and other third sector organisations in buying and selling properties (both commercial and residential), large securitisation work, imposing and discharging title conditions, commercial property leasing arrangements, development agreements, option agreements, provision of factoring advice, provision of agricultural property advice and telecommunications work.

An experienced property solicitor, Stephen advises property developers and registered social landlords across Scotland in site acquisitions and thereafter drafting bespoke agreements dealing with title conditions, construction and planning implications and development funding requirements, frequently reporting to clients on range of complex title and site assembly issues, in a clear and concise manner.

Whilst a member of the TC Young team, Stephen has gained a substantial experience dealing with large scale refinancing arrangements of large property portfolios on behalf of SMEs, third sector organisations and well known high street retailers.

With over 15 years’ experience, Stephen has built a strong reputation for providing pragmatic advice to clients in all aspects of property law.

Stephen is also a notary public and teaches on the Diploma in Legal Practice.
