Isabel Ewing has been a partner at TC Young since 1999. As head of our Private Client Department, she has overseen substantial change and growth to place TC Young at the forefront of the delivery of legal services for private clients throughout Scotland.
Having a reputation as an approachable, ‘no nonsense’, and skilled solicitor, she works rigorously and robustly in the best interests of her clients. Isabel is extremely experienced in dealing with residential and commercial property purchases and sales, complex land development transactions and rural issues. She is a member of the team delivering advice to community groups and landowners on community right to buy legislation.
Isabel is involved in all aspects of the preparation of wills and powers of attorney. She is skilled in the setting up, administering of and termination of trusts (including charitable trusts). Isabel is also expert in the administration of complex executries and issues of succession, inheritance tax planning and management of individual and family assets, partnerships and small businesses.
She is a member of the Society of Trust and Executry Practitioners (STEP). In addition she holds a number of trustee appointments and roles within charitable organisations including Chair of the Trustees of the Bequest Fund for Ministers.
Isabel’s team provides specialist advice to individuals, families, care providers (including local authorities), health professionals and other solicitors on mental health and adults with incapacity issues – we are considered a leading firm in this field.
